Participation

Trafford Parents Forum are the DfE recognised funded parent carer forum in Trafford and the aim of our participation team is to facilitate parent carers involvement in the strategic delivery of services for children and young people with SEND in Trafford.

Trafford Parents Forum are committed to effectively embedding co-production with all key partnerships and to ensure that this co-productive approach is maintained where possible.  Our solution focused approach to participation sees parent carer voice up front and centre when working in partnership with local authority, education settings, health providers and other local service agencies.  Trafford Parent Forum parent carer representatives share a balanced approach to what is working well, what is not working well and everything in between at a variety of different strategic and operational meetings.

TPF has many ways of ensuring the voice of parent carers is captured through our closed Facebook group, our drop ins, our annual SEND survey, events and through our new lived experience advisory panel (LEAP) framework which is assisting the LA in understanding the lives of Trafford SEND parent carers and helping to shape their strategic ambitions plan for the area.
